Assistant Professor in the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and faculty member of the PosDEHA graduate program, specializing in Environmental Sanitation. He is a member of the Environmental Technology Group and the Environmental Sanitation Laboratory (Labosan) at UFC (https://labosan.ufc.br/).
His research focuses on environmental technology and includes, but is not limited to, the remediation of contaminants in groundwater, soil, and domestic and industrial effluents—with an emphasis on emerging and persistent contaminants—as well as the recovery of value-added compounds and energy through the anaerobic digestion of organic waste and effluents.
He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona (USA) between 2021 and 2023. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (Environmental Technology and Water Resources) from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE, 2020)—including a research period at the University of Arizona—as well as a Master’s degree from UFPE (2017) and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Magna cum Laude) from UFC (2014). In 2021, he was named a Sursum Fellow by the University of Arizona. From 2023 to 2025, he served as a visiting professor at the EMBRAPII Unit for Petroleum, Energy, and Environment (i-LITPEG/UFPE), and from 2025 to 2026, he was a researcher under the CNPq “Conhecimento Brasil” program (Talent Attraction and Retention) at UFPE. He has also served as a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Civil Engineering at UFPE. He participates in collaborative research projects with national and international institutions and serves as a reviewer for international journals in the fields of environmental engineering, sanitation, and pollution control.
